Fund for Idaho's History
The
conception of Fund for Idaho is a result
of the careful and sensitive deliberations of a group of people who have a long
history of involvement in the work of progressive social change here in Idaho. This group of
progressive activists included:
- Christopher Hormel - former director of the Global
Environment Project Institute, board member of the Snake River Alliance
- Lisa Leff - Portfolio Manager and Vice President of
Trillium Asset Management
- Jim Hansen -former state legislator, founder and
director of United Vision for Idaho
- Gary Sandusky - community organizer and founder of
Idaho Community Action Network
- Liz Merrill - board member of A Territory
Resource
- Diane Ronayne - writer and photographer, founding
board member of the City Club of Boise
- Rick Johnson - Executive Director of the Idaho Conservation
League
For many
years, the progressive community has witnessed the need for a funding vehicle
that is sensitive to the needs of Idaho.
We have seen those with extreme beliefs deny the pain and suffering existing in
the lives of some of our fellow citizens. The denial of these problems is an
obstacle to understanding and appropriate action. Our goal is to cultivate an Idaho where all the
disparate voices may be heard and responded to with compassion and respect.
